Pro Sports Baseball Minnesota Twins

The Twins have won the rights to negotatie with Japanese Superstar Tsuyoshi Nishioka.
Tsuyoshi NishiokaThe Twins will have 30 days to work out a contract with the switchhitting middle infielder. Nishioka will be represented by the Beverly Hills Sports Council from the United States. Nishioka who plays both shortstop and second base, led Japan’s Pacific League in hitting this year with a .346 average.

Rochester Rundown:

Rochester 3, Columbus 5

Matt Fox started the game for the Wings and got roughed up early. He pitched three innings and allowed three earned on seven hits. He walked three and struck out one. Jose Lugo came on in relief in the fourth and allowed two solo home runs while striking out three and walking two. Kyle Waldrop and Anthony Slama pitched a scoreless eighth and ninth. The Wings got thirteen hits tonight but it wasn’t enough to sail past the Clippers. Toby Gardenhire was 3-4 with an RBI. Jacque Jones was 2-4 with an RBI. Dustin Martin continues his hot streak with 2-5 game including a double.

 

RockCats Chronicle:

New Britain 1, Binghamton 5

Michael McCardell started for New Britain against Binghamton. He pitched 6 innings, allowing four runs on six hits. He struck out four and walked one. All in all, he picked up the loss dropping him to 0-8. Cole DeVries allowed a solo home run in an inning of work. Tony Davis pitched a scoreless 8th, walking and striking out one. Joe Benson scored the team’s only run on a solo homerun.

 

Ft. Myers Flashbacks:

Ft. Myers 4, Charlotte 1

After coming off a great performance last night, Brian Dozier topped it off with another great game tonight. Dozier went 2-4, with a HR , two RBIs and two runs. Estarlin De Los Santos went 2-4 with an RBI. Drew Thompson had a double and scored a run.  Bobby Lanigan took the hill for the Miracle. He pitched four scoreless innings allowing only one hit. He was relieved by Bruce Pugh in the fifth, who got the win after pitching 2.2 innings of two-hit ball. He struck out three while walking one. Jose Gonzales pitched a scoreless 1.1 innings. Billy Bullock allowed one run in one inning but still got the save.

E-Town Examiner:

Elizabethon 5, Bristol 4

Ryan O’ Rouke started for Elizabethon and pitched great! In his first appearance as a Twins uniform, he pitched five innings and only allowed one run on five hits. He fanned four and walked two. O’Rourke was the pitcher of record until the 8th inning when Zach See allowed two earned runs in 1.1 innings. The offense however kept E-town in the game and David Gutierrez got the save after recording two outs. At the plate, Brian Burke knocked in two runs in a 2-5 day. Oswaldo Arcia had another great game tonight going 2-5 with another HR. This brings his total to three in as many games. Daniel Ortiz went 2-4 with two doubles.

 

Coastal Check-Up:

GCL Twins 1, GCL Rays 7

The GCL Twins lost in a blowout to the GCL Rays. Justin Parker, 2010 draft pick, started for the Twins and allowed one run in three innings.  Luis NunezTravyone Johnson allowed four runs in the inning he pitched. Hein Robb pitched a scoreless seventh. Richard Calcano allowed one run in the inning he pitched. Nick Lockwood, In Kyun Kang , and Yorby Martinez all went 2-4 tonight. In a move that followed Thursday afternoon's loss to Milwaukee, Twins demote 3B Brendan Harris and recall Jason Repko from Rochester.

Harris who has been batting poor as of late will spend time in Rochester.

 

Repko, an OF, started his career in the Dodger'sorganization.
He is batting .281 in Rochester this year.
Repko will hopefully be available for tomorrow's game in New York says Twins manager Ron Gardenhire.

Poor Pitching lost the game for the Redwings tonight. Glen Perkins got the start and he struggled. Perkins pitched 3.2 innings giving up six earned on eight hits. He walked four and struck out two. Tim Lahey came in and didn’t allow a base runner through 3.1 innings, while striking out two. Pat Neshek record one out, a strike out, while allowing five earned on six hits. Kyle Waldrop cleaned up after Neshek and recorded the final two outs of the inning. Rob Delaney struck out the side in the ninth. The offense struggled tonight picking up only six hits. Brock Peterson knocked in both runners on an RBI single. Head out to Thursday game and Eddie Money will be signing free autographs.

Rockcat Chronicle:

New Britain 10, Binghamton 2

Chris Parmalee and Mark Dolec lead the charge for New Britain as they roll over Binghamton. Dolec went 3-5 with a double and four RBIS. Parmalee scored three runs on three hits in four plate appearances. Steve Singleton was 2-3 with a double and run scored. Erik Lis 3-5 with two runs scored. Carlos Gutierrez pitch an excellent game, pitching six innings while allowing one run on six hits. He struck out three men while walking two. Chris Province, who came over in the Boof Bonser deal, pitched two innings giving up one run on three hits. Cole DeVries pitched a scoreless ninth.

Ft. Myers Flashback:

Ft. Myers 9, Palm Beach 6

An early two run lead, thanks to Brian Dozier and Estarlin De Los Santos, pushed the Miracle to victory. Dozier was 4-6 with two RBIs. De Los Santos was 3-5 with one RBI. On the mound, Santos Arias pitched four innings and gave up three runs on six hits. The bright spot was that Arias struck out three earned while walking none. Michael Tarsi allowed two runs over 1.1 innings. He walked one and struck out one. Andrei Lobanov picked up the win allowing one run on three hits over 2.2 innings. Billy Bullock came on for the ninth and picked up a save after striking out two batters.

Oswaldo Arias followed up a phenomenal game yesterday with another great game on Wednesday. Arias was 2-4 with a triple and a home run. Brandon Henderson was 2-2 with a walk. On the hill, Blayne Weller got the start. He allowed five runs (four earned) on nine hits over four innings while striking out two. 2010 Draft pick, Sam Spangler pitched two innings allowing one run. David Gutierrez, brother of Carlos Gutierrez, pitch a scoreless inning allowing no hits and walks while striking out 2/3 of his batters. Kyle Necke allowed two runs on three hits through an inning of work

If you remember one thing and one thing only from this game, remember that the debut of Clay Condrey happened in this game. Condrey, who the Twins signed in the off-season as bullpen help, started the game and pitched a scoreless inning while allowing two hits. He had two strikeouts and one out. Ricardo Arevalo pitched 4.1 innings allowed four runs (three earned) on four hits. He had four strikeouts while walking none. Bart Carter pitched a scoreless 1.2 innings while striking out two. Bart Carrol allowed three runs on five hits in the inning he pitched. Mark Trau pitched a scoreless inning while striking out two. 2010 Draft Pick, Eddie Rosario was 3-4 with one HR and two RBIS.

Dustin Martin continued his hot streak tonight with a HR, a walk and two runs scored.  Jacques Jones and Brock Peterson both had a double and scored a run. Toby Gardenhire went 2-4 with a K. On the mound, Anthony Swarzak. Brad Hennessey came in and pitched two innings. He gave up two runs on three hits while walking one. Pat Neshek came in and struck out one batter in the inning he pitched while allowing a run. Rob Delaney pitched a scoreless 9th. struggled, going five innings while giving up seven earned on 10 hits

Rockcat Chronicle:

New Britain 3, Binghamton 13

Pitching is what lost the game for the Rockcats. The southpaw, Tyler Robertson started the game for New Britain and was disappointing to say the least. Through 6.1 innings he gave up six earned on ten hits. Two of the earned runs came on home runs. He walked one while striking out four. 7’1 Loek Van Mil came in to clean up the 7 inning but allowed 3 runs before getting out of the inning. Michael Allen came to start the 8th but allowed four runs before getting pulled. Matt Williams came into replace Allen and got out of the inning unscathed. Chris Cates and Steve Singleton went 2-4. Singleton had a double.

Ft. Myers Flashback:

Ft. Myers 0 , Palm Beach 5

Dan Osterbrock started the game for the Miracle and going seven innings giving up one earned on six hits. He struck out three while walking two. Joe Testa came in for the 8th and gave up three earned on five hits. The bright spot was that two of his three outs came on strike outs. The offense struggled having only six base runners all night.

Off day- All Star Break

The Snappers however sent four All Stars to the All Star game in Fort Wayne. Top prospect Aaron Hicks went 1-3 with a double in a loss to the MID East. Kane Holbrooks came in and got the two outs he was asked to get in the 6th. Anderson Hidalgo went 0-2.Tom Stuifbergen was elected but did not play.

E-Town Examiner:

Elizabethton Twins 6, Bristol Sox 1

The E-Town Twins started their season by defeating Bristol. Adrian Salcedo, eighteen year-old who has already pitched for Ft. Myers this season, gets the win as he goes seven innings allowing one earned on six hits while striking four while walking two. Nelvin Fuentes and Zach See both pitched a scoreless inning. Oswaldo Arcia went 3-4 with a HR and three RBIs. Gunner Glad went 3-5 with two doubles.

Costal Check-Up:

GCL Twins 1, GCL Orioles 6

The phenomenal debut of German born Max Kepler didn’t carry over into Tuesday’s game as he went 0-4 with three Ks in the loss to the GCL Orioles. The pitching was not great as starter Caesar Ciurcina pitched 6 innings and gave up four runs on six hits. He had four Ks and no walks. Brad Tippet came in for the seven and gave up one run. Trayvone Johnson and Luis Nunez both pitched a scoreless inning.
