Casilla to DL ; Tolbert to Majors

In a move that followed the Twins 5-4 win over the Seattle Mariners, Matt Tolbert was recalled from AAA- Rochester with Alexi Casilla being sent to the DL with bone spurs in his elbow.  Casilla had been battling elbow soreness for much of this month and may need arthroscopic surgery to remove the spur from the elbow. Surgery would keep him out four weeks.

Tolbert played in three games with the Twins this season in which he had four at bats, and only one hit.

He is hitting .256 with nine doubles and three triples in Rochester.

Casilla, who pinch ran late in the game for veteran Jim Thome, can be active fifteen days from now as opposed to eleven because of the pinch running.
