Pro Sports Football Buffalo Bills Bills Release Edwards, Stick with Fitzpatrick

Trent Edwards

Trent Edwards won the starting quarterback battle to begin the season for the Bills.  Now he's unemployed.

The Bills announced today they have released the veteran QB after attempts to trade him were unsuccessful.

Edwards was benched before the Bills 38-30 loss to New England on Sunday in favor of Ryan Fitzpatrick.

There's no indication on where Edwards may land.  He was the Bills third round selection in the 2007 NFL draft and played his collegiate career at Stanford.
