Dustin Byfuglien's trade value is at it's peak this offseason. That coupled with cap restraints of the Chicago Blackhawks seem to have escalated into a perfect storm for a trade.
TSN.com is reporting that the Blackhawks are finalizing an 8-player deal that would send Byfuglien, Brent Sopel, Ben Eager and Akim Aliu to Atlanta in exchange for Marty Reasoner, Jeremy Morin, and two selections in the 2010 NHL Draft (No. 24 and No. 54).
Byfuglien, 6'4" and 257 lbs, was originally drafted by the Blackhawks in the 2003 NHL Draft with the 245th overall selection. At only 25 years old, he scored 17 goals and added 17 assists in 82 games for the Blackhawks.
